We'll make sure your child’s car seat is fitted correctly. Our trained experts install and check capsules, baby seats, child car seats and booster seats so your child travels safely. From installations and checks to expert advice and car seat recommendations, we're here to help.

Members get a free fitting with any car seat purchased from RAA in the last 12 months*. Otherwise, fittings start from $45 for members and $49 for non-members.

Book a child restraint fitting at RAA’s Safety Centre.

The RAA Child Safety Centre offers a range of restraint checks and fitting services.
RAA Members get a free fitting with every restraint purchased from RAA within the last 12 months*. Otherwise, fitting costs are:

Book a child-restraint fitting at one of our regional fitting centres, or a virtual fitting at home

Virtual fittings
If you live in regional SA and can't come to one of our regional fitting centres below, you can book a virtual appointment with our Child Safety Centre. We can video call you to assess seats that have already been fitted or talk you through a new seat installation. 

To book a virtual appointment, call us on 8202 4592 or use our online enquiry form and let us know you'd like the appointment to be virtual.

Regional fitting centres
RAA has trained the teams at our regional fitting centres to provide an approved child restraint fitting service.

OG Roberts Holden – Mount Gambier child restraint fitting service
  • The service costs $40 for one seat or $70 for two, and RAA members get a 10% discount

  • The service costs $40 for one seat, and $50 for non-members

Do you need anchor points installed?

All new vehicles sold in Australia must meet certain safety requirements called Australian Design Rules. For child restraints, the most important design rule is the provision of child restraint anchorage points.

If your car is one of the following types, and was built after the dates below, it'll have anchorage points:

  • Sedans manufactured after July 1976
  • Station wagons manufactured after January 1977
  • Hatchbacks manufactured after January 1977
  • Light passenger vans (up to 12 seats) manufactured after January 1986
  • 4WDs manufactured after July 1990

Vehicles classified as commercial vehicles (for example, utes, vans etc. aren't required to have anchorage points. However, some manufacturers of later model commercial vehicles have opted to supply them.

If your vehicle is an older or commercial vehicle that does not have anchorage points, it may be possible to have them fitted. Contact one of the businesses below that offer this service:
